Applications for helping aggressive dogs and counseling their guardians. Case analyses which include diagnostics, behavior modification plans, and technique demos. Cases of resource guarding, body handling and stranger fear, and excess "watchdog" barking (at strangers) are among those considered. Technique choices. Desensitization and counterconditioning demos. Finally: the client's role in the process: Client management. Should clients train? Should the trainer do it all? What common myths must be debunked?

ABOUT THE SPEAKERS |
JEAN DONALDSON, Director of the San Francisco SPCA's Academy for Dog Trainers, has over thirty years of experience in dog behavior and training, and founded the first positive reinforcement school and counseling service in Montreal. Her first book, The Culture Clash, won the Best Behavior Book of 1997 from the Dog Writers Association of America (DWAA) and is the #1 book suggested for dog owners by the Association of Pet Dog Trainers. Her book MINE! A Guide to Resource Guarding in Dogs also won the Best Behavior Book from the DWAA for 2002. Her latest books are: FIGHT! A Guide to Dog-Dog Aggression and Oh Behave! Dogs From Pavlov to Premack to Pinker (which also recently won Best Behavior Book for 2008 by the DWAA).
JANIS BRADLEY is a clicker trainer and educator at the SF/SPCA, she has been a main architect of their uniquely student centered curriculum for public dog training classes and developed a new model for counseling clients who need help resolving their dogs' behavior issues. She is the author of the widely applauded book: Dogs Bite: But Balloons and Slippers Are More Dangerous.

The State Beach, restaurants, antique shops, boutiques, and County Fairgrounds are all within easy walking distance. Rooms are about $100 per night.
DOG POLICY AT THE CLOCKTOWER IS HIGHLY RESTRICTIVE:

While there are a few reasonably priced dog friendly hotels in the area, please
remember that no dogs are permitted in the meeting room (except for demo dogs). Dog Friendly hotels / motels include:
